Help
Common questions about this memorial space
Where is my memorial stored?
Everything you create here is stored locally in your web browser on this device. Nothing is sent to any server. Your pet profiles, memories, journal entries, photos, and candles all stay completely private on your device.
Will I lose my memorial if I close the browser?
No. Closing your browser or shutting down your computer will not delete your memorial. It will be here when you come back, as long as you use the same browser on the same device.
When could my memorial be lost?
Your memorial could be lost if you clear your browser history or cache, use a private or incognito window, switch to a different browser (for example from Chrome to Safari), or use a different device (for example your phone instead of your laptop). This is why we recommend downloading a copy.
We gently recommend downloading your memorial once you have added important memories.
How do I save a permanent copy?
Go to Pet Profiles, click on your pet, and press the Download memorial button. This saves a text file to your computer with your pet's profile, all their memories, and your journal entries. You can keep this file forever, print it, or share it with family.
Can I access my memorial on another device?
Not currently. Because everything is stored in your browser, your memorial only exists on the device and browser where you created it. Download a copy if you want to keep your memorial safe.
What about my photos?
Photos are stored in your browser along with everything else. However, browsers have a storage limit (usually around 5 to 10 megabytes), so if you add many large photos, you may run out of space. We recommend keeping photos small. The downloaded memorial text file does not include photos, so keep your original photos saved separately.
